This is where I want to start. Fonts are my biggest inspiration. When I see a font I like, I can start putting the other pieces together in my mind. So let’s start here!
The Hungry JPEG now has a “Quick Install” feature for fonts, where you can easily install your new fonts at once!
I just dragged all the fonts into my “Fonts” folder, but the instructions for each computer may be slightly different. Luckily they also include Quick Install instructions in the download pack!
I open a nice, big Photoshop document. In this case I’m going with 1000×1000 to give me more room to play.

I like to start with a neutral color, like #333333. It’s a nice, dark coal. It’s just a few shades lighter than black. Because at this point, I don’t have a color scheme in mind.
Then start typing your blog/business name in each font. I keep each font on a new folder so I can switch between them easily. When I go, I delete what I’m not particularly interested in.
Right now I haven’t decided which font I like the most, so I’m going to the next step, which is getting inspiration from graphical assets.
Usually what I do is open a folder in Adobe Bridge. I do this because Bridge provides a good overview of all files (PSD, Illustrator, etc.).

I basically just browse through the folders looking for inspiration. I start pulling together and posting whatever things interest me. They don’t have to make sense or go together, I just start gathering ideas.
Whenever I come across images I like, I import/export them into a blank Photoshop document, because Photoshop is my program of choice. To save vectors, I make sure to save them as Smart Objects whenever possible.
It’s a smart feature that allows me to continue editing vector graphics because it doesn’t rasterize (as it would if I chose “Pixels”).
Each asset is also on its own so I can easily move things around by copying them to another document.

The goal here is not to just create one logo and stick with it. You want to make tons of different types. We do this because your first logo probably won’t be the best or your favorite. But the more you experiment and play around, the better your logos get. It’s better to give yourself more options.
It’s easy and I even used the color that came with the laurel (good!). You will notice that I have combined it with one of my chosen fonts (Letters Douces). But there was a lot of empty space around “Nose Graze” so I also added the tagline in Source Sans Pro.
This one is using one of the flower graphics. I went with the same fonts as in logo #1. I think I’m really starting to like this font! I’m not 100% on the color of Nose Graze articles though. I used the color of the branch, but it seems a tad out of place.
How Can I Create My Own Logo Quickly?
I AM SO IN LOVE WITH THIS ONE!! This is the most “me” so far. It’s so easy so far and it took all of two seconds to do, but I LOVE IT!!
This time I used the Sortdecai Handmade Script font. I immediately realized that all the “” I had written before was not enough, so I cut it down to “ng” and it fit perfectly in the diamond!
I’m very happy with my diamond logo, but I could keep going if I wanted to. Granted, the diamond logo may still be my favorite, but you never know what else will come.
And I do all that until I’m 100% happy with the logo. Otherwise, sometimes I make a sign, I like it, but then three days later I realize that I’m already sick of it. So it’s important to let those logos sit for a while to make sure you’ll keep loving them for a long time.

That can be your full given name, but if you prefer to be called a shortened version or a nickname, there’s nothing wrong with making that part of your design. If you want to keep your personal and professional life separate, you can use a different name than the one you use with your family and friends.
Then, try different ways to express it. Write everything down, middle name and all. Try to shorten it to just your first two names and last name. Channel your inner diva and use one name, like Cher does. Seeing different versions can help spark your creativity and guide your design decisions.
